Gathering of Thought Leaders
Ranchers, activists, chefs, policy makers, and more will be selected to attend the Symposium as delegates. The application process to become a delegate will open February 2, 2015, and will be available at slowfoodusa.org/slow-meat-2015
Workshops with Purpose
A mix between curated presentations, small group discussions, and peer-to-peer learning will combine to engage the delegates in a holistic evaluation of the status of meat production and consumption.
Network Building
Dinner at Slow Meat 2014Slow Food thrives on the informal connections built by sharing good food, drink, and conversation. The Symposium will provide ample time and programming to stimulate discussion and connection within the delegation.
Ongoing Action
Identified intervention points that emerge from the Symposium will shape the ongoing Slow Meat campaign, through which Slow Food communities globally will be spurred to raise awareness and take local action.
Fair, June 6
Salad at Slow Meat 2014A day of discovery, connecting, and deliciousness. This celebration of Slow Meat will invite the public to experience the reality of good, clean, & fair food. Visitors will be able to shop booths featuring Slow Meat-related products and services; attend public lectures discussing innovations and challenges; participate in skills workshops; and of course taste lots of great Slow Meat fare.
